This year NRF-SAASTA is embarking on a pilot online examination of Physical Sciences and Natural Sciences grades 7-9. Schools have the option to enrol learners to participate in the online examination or to write a paper-based examination.
- Paper-based means that NRF-SAASTA shall ensure that the papers and answer sheets are packed and couriered to the school for learners to write the examination the old fashioned way physically.
- Online means that the school will be provided with a link via email on the day of the examination and the learners will have to virtually write the examination online on either a smart phone/tablet/Desktop computer/laptop.
Note: If a school choose to participate in the pilot online examination, then all the learners must be in a position to write the examination online. Learners must also be prepared to write the paper-based examination should NRF-SAASTA, for any undisclosed reason, decide not to pursue the pilot online examination in 2021.
The NRF/SAASTA shall take all reasonable measures to protect the personal information of participants during NRF/SAASTA events. For the purpose of this disclaimer “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, Act 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) and the Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”).
